Dr. Hong led the Health Informatics faculty in designing this 15-credit graduate certificate at George Mason University — the first of its kind in Virginia. The program prepares public health and health care professionals to responsibly apply artificial intelligence to improve care quality, reduce inefficiencies, and advance both patient and population health.
Graduate Courses
HAP 824 — Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis for Health Services Research (Doctoral seminar). Students conduct a publishable systematic literature review on a current public health problem, including quality assessment and meta-analysis.
HAP 635 — Role of Government in Health Care and Public Health (MPH core course). Foundations of how and why federal and state governments are involved in health care and public health, including health policy analysis.
HI 625 / HI 825 — Digital Health Innovation: Conceptualization to Commercialization. Cross-listed graduate seminar covering the development of digital health innovations from initial concept through implementation and commercialization. HI 625 is included in the AI in Health Graduate Certificate.
